VALENTINE CARD HOLDER
MATERIALS:1 and ½ Paper Plates
Hole Punch
Tape
Stapler
Ribbon or Yarn in Red or Pink
Markers, Stickers, Construction Paper, Glitter Glue for Embellishing
STEPS:
1. Cut a paper plate in half. Each card holder is made with one whole paper plate for the back and ½ of a paper plate on the lower front forming a pocket to put your cards into.
2. Attach the two paper plates with a couple of staples. Punch holes around the entire outside of the plates.
3. Use a small piece of tape to wrap around the end of the ribbon or yard to form a “needle”. Beginning at the top of the plate, lace around the entire outside of the plates using your needle and the punched holes.
4. Leave a few extra inches of ribbon at the top to tie a loop for hanging.
5. Decorate your card holder with stickers, markers, glitter glue and construction paper.

Chenille Stem
Craft Foam or Felt
Google Eyes
Empty Egg Carton
5” Square of Cardboard
Glue
Scissors
STEPS:
1. Wrap the yarn around the 5” piece of cardboard 100 times. Cut a 6” piece of yarn and slide underneath the wrapped yarn and tie tightly in a knot. Turn over to the back and cut through the yarn.
2. Turn your yarn ball sideways and smooth down the yarn. Bend a chenille stem in half and push it up through the yarn ball.
3. Cut out one section of an egg carton. Glue upside down to a 4” heart cut out of foam. Cover the egg carton with glue and gently place your yarn ball on top, separating the strands of the yarn to fit around the egg cup. Press gently to secure.
4. Use two small hearts on the end of the chenille stems for his antennae. Cut two small hearts for his eyes, then glue the google eyes in the middle. Cut one more small heart for his nose and glue each of them on the face. Give your Love Bug to someone special for Valentine’s Day!
